Single Family House with Chapel in Resende
This project consisted of restoring and rebuilding a granite ruin, located in a rural area, with the aim of creating a family refuge for weekends and vacations. The house was designed to enhance integration with the surrounding landscape, offering privileged views over the valley and the River Douro.
The architectural program included the main house, with social areas, kitchen and three bedrooms, and an independent annex with four suites, originally intended for pets. In addition, the adjacent chapel was restored, preserving its historical and spiritual relevance.
The intervention favored the use of traditional materials from the region, such as stone, wood and clay, combining contemporary construction techniques with a deep respect for the authenticity of the site. The result is a harmonious space that combines functionality and cultural identity, in perfect harmony with the natural and architectural context.
